open source

Berliner Sam Muirhead tries to live completely open source for one year:

Open source as a development model promotes a universal access via a free license to a product's design or blueprint, and universal redistribution of that design or blueprint.

Open source gives 4 freedoms:

  • the freedom to use the software for any purpose
  • the freedom to modify the software
  • the freedom to share the software
  • the freedom to share the changes you make

Give something for free and you will get much more than if you would sell it.
